Counting in 2s

The 2 times tables is the same as counting in 2s. When you count in 2s you miss out one number every time.

Think of pairs

The 2 times table is all about pairs of things. 1 pair of socks is the same as 2 socks. 2 pairs of socks are the same as 4 socks.

Use your fingers

You can use your fingers to help. Keep adding 2 each time. Every answer in the 2 times table is an even number. So if your number is odd, something is wrong.

Double the number

Multiplying by 2 means doubling. 7 x 2 is the same as 7 + 7
