Dissolving
Some materials are soluble which means they dissolve in water. If you add sugar to water and give it a good mix with a spoon it dissolves so much that you can't see it anymore. The water is now a solution because it is a mix of water and sugar.
You can mix solids up with other solids. Next time you are at the beach, fill your bucket with pebbles and sand. You now have a mixture.
